Logo Detection

Identify Logos & Brands in Digital Content with AI

Logos are the visual link between people and brands. Maybe that’s why we fixate on them so much. From Burger King’s celebrated rebrand to GM’s polarizing gradient, there’s been plenty to discuss about logos in 2021.

What We Do

Logo detection, brand recognition, and measurement in billions of videos and images.

Our visual analysis bot inspects every frame of content (images, gifs, videos, live streams) and then labels and classifies logos and other brand data. See for yourself: Request a Demo.

We automate the discovery and indexation of logos and other identifiable brandprints in visual content.

It should be easy for brands and their marketing agencies to check for when and where their (or their competitors’) logos appear across digital and traditional media. And it should be equally easy for them to set up alerts to avoid getting caught off-guard the next time one of their products is featured in a viral social video.

Using Computer Vision and Machine Learning, Deep.ad scans digital media and automatically recognizes and labels in-content logos.

We can accurately detect multiple obscured, blurry, and minute (composing less than 5% of the overall frame) logos.

Data We Label

Bring Your Own Content (BYOC)

Scan any amount of unstructured (videos, images, pdfs, etc.) or structured (organized in a spreadsheet) visual data you provide. Here’s how it typically works:

Step 1:   User uploads or indicates images, videos, and other audiovisual assets for analysis. Users are not limited by file format, type, or size.

Step 2:  Deep.ad ingests this data (or, upon request, we scrape it).

Step 3:  Leveraging dozens of APIs, Deep.ad labels occurrences of brand intelligence (logos, product packaging, brand names in text overlays, etc.) and also pulls in relevant data from the web.

Step 4:  All detected and discovered data is normalized, organized, and visualized in easy-to-use dashboards and clean spreadsheet exports.

Step 5:  Users can query indexed data for insight and configure rules for alerts.

Step 6: Users can easily integrate data into their in-house and third-party apps.

Channel-Wide Detection

Deep.ad isn’t limited to labeling BYOC. We have decades of experience scraping petabytes of media from public sources and marketing channels to find logos and other brand and product identifiers.

We aren’t limited to just tracking sponsored content and social posts where creators tag or mention brands in text. Conventional social media analytics tools can handle that.

One of the biggest challenges of scale facing the Ad Tech industry right now, for example, is wholesale digital video tracking. Especially in User-Generated Content (UGC).

When it comes to measuring brand relevance and share of voice, digital video presence is arguably the most important data stream for B2C brands. And until now, it was completely untrackable at scale.

By digital video we mean TikTok. YouTube. Twitch. Instagram. Facebook video. Netflix. YouTube TV. Security feeds.

Considering 20 billion videos are viewed on the internet every day – roughly 8 billion for Facebook, 5 billion for YouTube, 3 billion for TikTok and so on – AI is literally the only way to monitor for logo detection and brand intel. Very literally. If you wanted to know if your brand was mentioned on Twitch in 2020 by one of the top 1,000 streamers, for example, you’d need 236 years to watch every minute. This is a clear-cut case for automation.

Reduce Data Labeling Costs ≥70%

We help marketing intelligence companies and major advertisers substantially reduce data attribution costs.

Labeling logos and other brand intelligence in visual content is highly manual, highly time-consuming, and highly error-prone work.

There’s simply a better way to label data – and that’s with Visual AI. Automation will result in ≥70% savings over time, freeing up millions in budget.

Actionable Competitive Intelligence

Staying ahead of the video-first social game also means keeping a watchful eye on the competition.

Do you know what their strengths and weaknesses in UGC are?

Deep.ad will help you understand and analyze their Social Video Share of Voice (#SVSOV) compared to yours. Benchmark consumer perception about your competitors in UGC. Identify and explore differences between customer bases. Decipher their advertising and offer strategies.

Speed to Conversation

Move at the speed of social.

There’s incredible upside for brands who deftly engage with and promote UGC. But only if you can act fast and identify trending content.

Compared to the 96%* of consumers who are wary of traditional advertising and brand content, 79% of people make purchasing decisions based on UGC. It’s a full 10x more impactful on driving revenue than sponsored/influencer content. And websites with embedded UGC content boast 90% longer visits and are at least 29% more likely to result in conversions.

Deep.ad puts you in a position to find and cultivate whole new communities of customers who love your client’s products.

Think of it this way: millions of people probably saw Nathan Apodaca’s (@Doggface208) watershed Dreams TikTok before Ocean Spray’s Marketing Team did. Although that fairytale ended well for Doggface and Ocean Spray, we’re going to help the next Ocean Spray get to the conversation a lot faster.

Brand Safety Early Warnings

Conversely, you also don’t want to be the last person in the room to hear that 100,000 people have already “liked” a handheld video review slamming your client’s newest product. Our logo detection technology will ensure you spot that content early enough to alter its trajectory.

And as much as you need to know when your client’s product/logo is featured prominently in a fun Instagram Reels trend, you *need* to know if it’s featured in a video containing hate speech and abusive content.

Deep.ad logo identification software will help you home in on these risks early on – and eventually even in real-time.

Seamless Platform Integrations

We understand the importance of clean dashboards and flat data outputs you can easily analyze, act on, and integrate with your own platforms.

Beyond the value of our data, we plug into your in-house Ad Tech / Business Intelligence systems and machine learning algorithms. This can help major data agencies connect the dots between things like natural video Share of Voice and receipt data to analyze lift and dip.

Beyond Logos

Deep.ad finds brands, products, and offers in Paid, Earned, Shared, and Owned media. Beyond detecting logos, we also detect other brand “marks” like WIPO/USPTO trademarks, International Standard Recording Code (ISRC), Universal Product Codes (UPC), cross-device beacons and more. We’re the only solution on the market that also scans for and labels offer information (prices, promotions, deals or anything that advertises some form of transaction).

Let’s talk.

96% of consumers are wary of traditional advertising.

Whether with TV, physical, or digital, it’s harder than ever to move the dial with obvious brand advertising. Even viral brand campaigns fail to deliver an appreciable impact on sales.

This dramatically elevates the importance of organic logo/brand cameos in social media content.

And if you’re skeptical of how much brand data exists in digital content, think of it this way:

If you took a selfie right now, how many logos would be in the photo? This writer’s desk selfie contains *8 logos* in frame! Apple. Carhartt. RCA. Starbucks. The University of Michigan. Timbuk 2. Dyson. SodaStream.
